Modeling For a Purpose

Greetings everybody!

Hope you were able to get through the winter in good shape! Hopefully, you were able to fit some time into modeling in the midst of shoveling snow.  A few weeks ago I was finally able to get back into some modeling projects that I put on the shelf in January.  Whatever you may have been able to work on, hopefully you are keeping in mind some of the modeling competitions that are coming up this year.  Locally, we have Model Fest  ‘11 in Kansas City in April,  the Heartland Model Car Nationals in Overland Park, KS in June, Gateway to the West Contest and Swap Meet in St Louis in September, KC Con 2011 in Kansas City in October, and, of course, TigerCon here in Columbia in November.  Also, don’t leave out taking an entry to the 2011 IPMS Nationals in August in Omaha, Nebraska!  So there are lots of chances to “show your stuff” this year.

What I encourage you to do is start thinking about what projects you can get done by the previously mentioned competitions. If you are like me, I am always pressed for time the week before a competition, working feverously trying to get my project finished. Most times, there is one area that I wish I would have spent more time on. I always think to myself, “If only I would have started sooner!”

Well, start now and get that project done!

Until next time,
