TigerCon 2013
2013 Scale Model Contest and Vendor Show
.
The 2013 event saw 44 modelers from across Missouri entering 158 models to compete in 41 different categories. This was TigerCon's first year at the Hickman High School event center. Total attendance was 92 people. The judging was busy with the wide array of quality models brought by all contestants; the work put in to the models displayed this year meant the choice between winners was often very, very close. (One of the Ships categories, for example, came down to one single small slightly silvered decal!)
.
Throughout the day 16 youth enjoyed building snap-kit models at the Make-n-Take table. The raffle tickets were popular, with quite a number of attendees going home with model kits or supplies chosen from the table as their lucky numbers were called out. Everyone got to survey the vendor tables all day long and bought kits and supplies aplenty for their winter modeling projects.

* Dioramas must be no larger than 24 inches x 24 inches unless authorized by the Head Judge. Also, don't forget that dioramas should "tell a story", and this is an additional aspect included in the judging of dioramas.
** "Out of the Box" means the model was built using only the parts and decals that came in the original box. (Yes, you can paint it and weather it, but you can't scratch-build additional parts, kit-bash, nor use after-market detail sets). Rigging, when not provided in the kit, may be added if it is called out in the instructions.
